How much does it cost?

How do I apply?

Go to the 'Registration' page, or click here.

How do I pay for the conference?

We process payments in two methods. Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman residents can pay us directly at the AUS campus. Nonetheless, an alternative payment option (especially for international applicants) is through the Western Union. Further instructions are provided on the registration form.

Is there a limit to a delegation’s size?

Due to high demand, we have limited the delegation size to 45 delegates. Delegations exceeding 35 delegates will be paired as double delegations. For more information on the matter, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@ausmun.com.

What is the minimum age for a delegate?

Although there are no defined age boundaries, AUSMUN is an academic event. Delegates comprise of both high school and university students, who bring with them unique ideas and thought processes.

Is there a limit to the number of institutions and delegates invited?

Yes. Each year, the elected board of directors determines the maximum number of institutions and students invited.

How can I participate in AUSMUN if my high school/college was not invited?

Institutions do not necessarily have to be invited to attend AUSMUN anymore. Kindly email us and include the name of your institution, the direct contact number of your advisor or head delegate, and a primary email address. We will contact you shortly.

Are independent delegates allowed to be a part of AUSMUN?

If your school cannot attend AUSMUN, there is no need to worry. Recently, we have started welcoming individual delegates, whose schools could not send a formal delegation. This, of course, requires the consent of the delegate’s legal guardian(s) and/or the school. University delegates do not require such permission.

Does the conference provide accommodation if we were to come from another country?

While accommodation on-campus is not usually available, we can assist your delegation by offering special rates in our partner hotel for this year's conference, you may learn more about it in our registration page.

As a delegate, can I choose the committee and country I want?

Delegates are not usually permitted to select committees and countries themselves. However, we offer a number of choices to each delegation on a first-come, first-served basis. Countries are assigned arbitrarily, per AUSMUN’s core values, and committee assignments are distributed on the s of equal proportion.

I cannot make it to the conference anymore. How do I get my money back?

A refund can only be arranged if the delegate was not able to attend the conference due to visa issues.

Can non-AUS students organize the conference?

Unfortunately, this is not possible as our conference is strictly organized by AUS students for logistical reasons. However, delegates might be allowed to serve as members of their committee’s Dais. We will inform delegations as soon as there is a development.

How can I become a conference organizer?

We conduct multiple general meetings each semester. Prospective organizers are strongly encouraged to attend them. The location, date, and time of each meeting will be posted on our social media accounts.

Is AUSMUN a student club?

No; AUSMUN is an autonomous entity that is affiliated with the Department of International Studies at the College of Arts and Sciences.

How should I prepare for the MUN conference?

Both the Delegate and Background Guide for each committee with its topics will be posted on the Downloads page roughly 1 month prior to the conference. The guides will provide a basic overview of the topics and also list helpful websites. Apart from this, independent research is not only strongly encouraged but is required. You must ensure that you have a thorough knowledge of your country’s position on the topic being discussed. This can be achieved by preparing a position paper.

Will there be an orientation or workshop before the conference?

Yes, an optional workshop will be conducted prior to the conference. The details will be shared on our social media accounts a few weeks before the workshop commences.

International business attire is the mandatory dress code for the conference. Delegates are expected to look professional; therefore, they are prohibited from wearing sneakers, flashy accessories, and displaying national symbols. Male delegates must be in a full suit, while female delegates are required to dress modestly or wear the abaya.

Is the use of laptops permitted?

Yes. In fact, delegates are encouraged to bring their own laptops. Nevertheless, the use of personal devices is not permitted during formal debate sessions as delegates will be speaking and will demand the undivided attention of the committee.

Who should I contact for committee-specific inquiries?

Once your delegation registers, your advisor will receive the committee and country assignments via email. The email address of your committee’s Director or Head Moderator will be provided shortly afterward.
