Secretary-General's Welcome

Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Organizers,

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 17th annual conference of the American University of Sharjah Model United Nations (AUSMUN). It is an honor for me to be serving as the Secretary General of AUSMUN 2024. AUSMUN is a conference very dear to my heart due to it being my first ever MUN I attended when I came in as a delegate in 2017. Since then I have served AUSMUN in various capacities including page, moderator, and director. 

AUSMUN is not just a conference but a prestige that the delegates and organizers take pride in being part of. Being the largest and the most prestigious conference in the region my executive board and I are striving to preserve the glorious legacy of AUSMUN. We are working day and night to provide our delegates with an experience that enriches their skills and develops them to be the leaders of tomorrow. We want our delegates to be well-rehearsed with the challenges and problems that our world faces today and be ready to face them with new innovative and creative solutions. 

Our guiding theme for this year’s conference is “Global Challenges, Collective Action”. The theme signifies that our world today faces many challenges such as poverty, climate change, inequality, and conflict. These challenges are complex and interconnected between nations. For us to be able to tackle them we need the nations to come together and cooperate in order to find solutions. 

With “Sapere Aude” as our guiding principle, I encourage you to participate in AUSMUN for an enriching, enjoyable, and memorable experience that will enlighten and inspire you. AUSMUN has always been a great destination to refine and sharpen all the necessary skills for a young diplomat in the making.
