Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Organizers,
It brings me the utmost pleasure to welcome you to the fourteenth annual session of the American University of Sharjah Model United Nations' (AUSMUN) website.
This year has certainly imposed unforeseen challenges on the global community, and there is no better time for the international community to redevise strategies to rebuild a resilient world. Year after year, AUSMUN has strived to provide students with a conference that is of impeccable quality. Like always, this year too, we pledge to uphold our legacy and exceed your expectations. This year will mark fourteen years of determination, dedication, and passion here at AUSMUN. New opportunities await you at AUSMUN 2021, enabling you to gain a wholesome experience, one that is filled with fun, learning, and plenty of memories. With "Sapere Aude" as a motto, we hope to deliver a conference that empowers you to become a future global leader.
Welcome to AUSMUN 2021! With the hopes that this journey will inspire and enlighten you to learn not only about debating, politics, and the UN, but also about yourself, I wish you the best of luck as we combat yet another crisis together. About Us
A few years ago, AUS participated in the Harvard Model United Nations, the largest and oldest of its kind in the world. We were able to learn first-hand about different aspects of the international political system and grasp our role as citizens of the world. Marking the 10th anniversary of AUS, local high schools in the United Arab Emirates shared a similar experience with the birth of AUSMUN. In a course of months, students from AUS worked relentlessly to create a conference that both delegates and advisors would enjoy and dearly remember. We proudly recall the immense success of the first AUSMUN. The delegates left the conference with a significantly improved understanding of international relations and organizations. We strive to replicate that remarkable feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction each year. This year marks the 14th Annual Model United Nations at the American University of Sharjah. Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID 19 pandemic, AUSMUN promises to uphold its legacy and make this year's conference one worth remembering for the years to come.
